NOTE —

If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. You can also use our fave TinyJpeg to make them small so your blog posts still load quickly!

Top Tips For Your Downtown Tampa Wedding / Engagement (from a Photographer)

Downtown Tampa Elopement Photographer

If you’re planning your elopement or wedding for Downtown Tampa, you’re sure to love the many options. Whether you book your ceremony at an official venue, or have a simple day at the courthouse, it can’t be beat.

As a Tampa Wedding Photographer, this area is hands down our first pick for a “city” type vibe in your photos.

If you’re booking a courthouse slot, we highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time and book the wedding room. Mornings are a great time to get the best lighting for photos before/after, and the crowds downtown are much lower than later in the day. You can get a hotel room nearby for dreamy “before” photos if you’re wanting to wrap it into a full day experience.

Be sure to ask your photographer to bring a wider lens (we love the dreamy look of a 35mm) to get the full scene in the smaller room. It has a cute layout and makes for some touching photos with the two of you + anyone who is joining for the day.

The area has so many options for creative photos for your engagement or after your ceremony. The building has a beautiful exterior, and the adjacent streets and buildings make a great backdrop to set the scene for a great day.

If you leave from the courthouse or move your car to Poe Garage, you’re within walking distance of some of the best shooting locations in downtown Tampa, including Curtis Hixon Park, Kiley Garden, Le Meridien, (permit required), Tampa Theatre and the Riverwalk. (Ask any Tampa Wedding Photographer + Videographer and they “should” say the same! 😂)

Today’s featured couple made a reservation at Oak & Ola for brunch after their elopement at the clerk’s office. Pulling on the nostalgic vibe of the courthouse wedding and the industrial chic of Armature Works (permit req’d) it came together in some of our favorite shots to date! Check them out along with some of our other favorites from Downtown Tampa Weddings.

If you’re planning a wedding or elopement and are looking for a Tampa Wedding Photographer who knows how to utilize some of these downtown areas, we’re here to make it happen for you. Reach out and let’s make some magic. ✨

(THE MUSHY FEELINGS PART)

Why we (really) shoot weddings

Relationships are not always a walk in the park on a sunny day.

Sometimes it feels like you’re walking in the wind, in a thunderstorm without an umbrella, you know? But when you’re TOGETHER in that storm with the perfect someone, it's always worth it.

We know from experience in how life changing a positive intimate relationship can be (seriously, if you’d have met both of us prior to our marriage you wouldn’t believe it was us). We get to cheer each other on, call each other out, and choose to love each other in every moment. It’s the best. It’s simple, but it’s sacred.

And THAT is why we do what we do.

It’s our mission to support every couple: help you relax and stay present, from your first call with us to the moment you’re cuddled up scrolling through your wedding gallery and wiping away fresh tears.

It’s our honor to capture every wedding, because we recognize the sacredness of your love and relationship.

Totally chill if that’s not your thing (it’s a pretty sappy WHY but it’s real), so no hard feelings if you want to just head back to google now. But if this hit you in the feels, we’ve got you 👀
